So much for the saga over City Harvest Church these 2 days. Till now, I will say I'm still proud to be part of this family. Before you come in and start to give your precious comments or criticizes, pls hold your mouth 1st.
The fact here is, human just can't wait to celebrate the fall of another man. They celebrate and make a big hoo-haa when a prominent man fall and discredit all the contributions he has made to the society. How convenient it is to join in the crowd and start to make all sort of ugly comments and remarks. Did you see the times where we contribute and help to make the society a better place? Where were you when lives were impacted and changed? Where were you when families & marriages were restored? Where were you when we feed the poor and help the old? How easy is it for people who are not part of the family to start making all sorts of 'noise' and remarks when they are not even playing a part in what we were doing.
Do you even know how many schools were build? How many orphanages were build? How many people (the young, the old, the poor, the sick, the homeless) were blessed per week by our ministries? Do you know how many broken people were restored by the works of the ministries? There were no news coverage in Singapore on what we've done throughout Asia doesn't mean nothing was done at all! Get your facts right before you start to post all sort of ugly comments.
Will it be nice if i start to post ugly things about your family when the truth is not even out? How will you react? How will you feel when you're discredited for all the goods that you've done?
So, think before you comment. Because what comes around, goes around.
Blog set up to detailed every little things that revolves around my life. Including my 2 cats... :)

Product Review: 6-day BRAND’S Tangkwei with Essence of Chicken (Part 2)
This 2nd post will be sharing what's the verdict after taking the chicken essence... And the result is...
I'M LOVING THIS!! During the 1st day of my period (16th July), surprisingly, I don't feel much cramps. I started the day with one pain killer, and that's all! I no need anymore pain killers throughout the day. I do feel abit of discomfort, but it's bearable. It's not those that will keep you toss and turn in your bed & hoping that the pain will just go away. I am able to go out, do things as per normal, without feeling much discomfort. And best of all, I do not need to rely on any pain killers throughout. It's amazing! I am so happy coz i can finally stop relying on pain killers and best of all, not having to tolerate the cramps.
On the 2nd day (17th July), I don't feel any discomfort at all. Everything is as normal. No pain killers, no cramps.. Awww... How I love this chicken essence. :)
If you are those that experience really bad cramps during your menstrual cycle, I would really recommend you to try this product. It really did ease my pain during those period and I'm definitely going to store them up before my next cycle!

Product Review: 6-day BRAND’S Tangkwei with Essence of Chicken (Part 1)
This blog is going to have 2 parts to it as I'm going to write about a Product Review on BRAND'S new product made specially for the women. Yea, all you women, pay attention to this cause I know that it is going to help you.
So, BRAND'S has come up with a new product - BRAND'S Tangkwei with Essence of Chicken. This is especially made to help women who are facing premenstrual discomfort.
"Tangkwei has been used by generations of women to help ease the discomforts experienced during their menstrual cycle. Rich in iron, magnesium and vitamins B1, B2 and E, it is generally used to improve blood circulation and replenish blood loss. It is also beneļ¬cial in relieving your body from tiredness."
I've signed up for the trial program for this new product and in return, I'm going to blog about how this product had helped me in my menstrual discomfort. I'm one of those many that feel extreme discomfort during my menstrual period (especially during the 1st and 2nd day). I've been relying on pain relief pills all these while. It can be so bad that I take as much as 6-8 panadol menstrual pill per day. So yea, I decided to give this chicken essence a try. And as instructed, I took the chicken essence for 6 days before my menstrual starts. (From 11th June - 16th June). I like to have this with hot water, so normally I will pour the contents into a glass and add a bottle of hot water to it. (amount of hot water to add = 1 chicken essence bottle) This will helps to dilute and make it easier and nicer to drink. I like to take it during the day as it seems to give me energy throughout the day. The after-taste is not as strong because it is diluted. So for those that don't like the herbal smell, don't worry, you can dilute it to your acceptable taste. Hot one definitely taste better then room temperature or chilled. So go on, give it a try.
On the next post, i'm going to share if this really helps to ease my discomfort during my menstrual cycle. Stay tuned!

Leadership or Dictatorship
There is a BIG difference between these 2 - Leadership & Dictatorship
Here's what Wikipedia had to say about these 2:
Here's what Wikipedia had to say about these 2:
Leadership has been described as “a process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task".
A Dictatorship is defined as an autocratic form of government in which the government is ruled by an individual: a dictator.
Very clearly, a Leader is someone that inspires and get the support of others. While Dictatorship is the governing of One person over others.
The reason why I am inspired to write this post is because I felt that sometimes it is really very difficult to have great leaders in your life. Having worked in the workforce for about 10 years, I can count the numbers of true leaders in my workplace with one hand. Obviously, there are lots of dictator out there that thought they are actually "leaders" in their given positions. Having looked around the "leaders" in my workplace, I can't help but thinking why are they been placed in leadership positions? Instead of leading people, they dictate them instead. The reason why I left my previous company is because I don't felt empowered by my so-called "leader" (team lead) in my team. Instead of inspiring, motivating and getting the support to accomplished tasks, what we get is shit. Instead of standing for your own team, you sabotage them. So this is what you call "leadership"? When shared about what's your 5 year plan in the company, instead of encouraging and supporting your team mate's vision, you put them down by saying they are not good enough? All you do is just to sit there and get paid every month with the big-ass pay check. No directions, no motivation... just dictatorship.
And just when I thought that grass is greener on the other side, I was wrong. I went from one dictatorship to another, thinking that I will get a better manager. Was it really so difficult to have great leaders in your life? Someone that is truly interested in grooming you, helping you to achieve your goals along the way. There are countless time where I self-motivate, self-improve and self-driven myself to be better at work. Making sure that I do exceedingly above and beyond what I am required of. But still, I'm praying for a leader in my life that can lead me. Someone that can inspire me to be better, to be greater. For many, the positions that was given to them was not really because they live up to it.. I agreed that most worked really hard to be where they are now. But if you just want to be someone that is only interested in getting your own backside covered, then i think you should not be a leader in the 1st place.
A leader is someone that get their ass burn 1st, had their face slapped 1st. A leader is someone that stands for his/her team during tough times. Even when it's the team's fault, a leader will shield 1st and discipline later. A leader is someone that had a team of people behind him/her, willing to follow and fight for his/her vision, because they know that this leader will fight for them as well. The rise and fall of a company is based on the leadership.
A dictator is someone that boss around. Someone that fights for own rights and not the team's. When trouble comes, he/she will be the 1st to shield themselves and not others. Sacrificing others for the benefit of self. Someone that nobody wants to follow willingly for & lay their lives for.
As what Dr AR Bernard said before: "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." Pls, let my teacher appears, to help me be a better person.
Leadership:
The art of getting someone else to do something you
want done because he wants to do it.

Do cats understand human emtion?
Many people are familiar with dogs understanding and feeling human's emotion. There are so many stories about how dogs mourn over their gone owner or companion. The famous one that most of us would know will be Hachiko - The faithful dog that waits at the train station for it's owner returns till its' death. Reading and watching such stories really touches our heart, knowing that animals too, have emotions and can somehow understand how their owner feels at times.
So does cats react the same way as dogs? Do they understand and feel us as much as how dogs would? There are scientific studies showing that cats understand emotions and also react to them as accordingly. When the owner feels sick or sad, we release some chemical into the atmosphere and our cats will be able to pick them up and response as accordingly. There are times that I was feeling down or sad, crying in the room, and my cats will come up to me, lick me, stay by my side till i'm feeling better. It's amazing how they react to our emotions. They will always snuggle up to me when they realizes that I am not feeling good. It's really unconditional love that our animals are giving us. So how does your pet react when they realize that you are feeling down or sick? Isn't it wonderful knowing that our friends for life will always be there when we need them?
Have a great friday! Weekend is coming :)

Monthly Adoption Drive is here!
The monthly adoption drive organized by Pet Lovers Center & Cat Welfare Society is here again! The next drive will be 3rd June @ VivoCity starting from 3pm - 8pm. If you are keen on adopting an awesome pet, don't miss this! I believe that there are many people that will say "Oh, i will prefer to adopt a dog instead as dogs are more loyal, fun and can train them." Let me tell you this, having a cat is one of the most awesome experience I've ever had. From young, I always wanted a dog and
I had 2 of them:
1 is given by a total stranger I met at a playground when I was in Primary 3. This stranger just approach me and ask if I would like to adopt her dog. I forgot the breed but as a kid who always like dogs, I did not think much and brought it home. You can imagine the face of my mum when I brought it home that faithful day. So my mum being so kind, told me that she will allow us to keep the dog if we promise to take care of it. Clean it's poo and pee, bring it out for a walk, feed it, bathe it etc... So I happily agreed to the T&C. But guess what, after about a month or 2, I began to have 2nd thoughts. As I do not know how to train the dog, it pees & poos all over my house. And at the last straw, my mum could not take it and decided to give it up for adoption. I was so sad that day that the dog was taken away. :(
And the 2nd dog was actually helping my cousin to take care of him for her friend. I was in secondary school then and my cousin asked if i can help to look after this dog for a few week for her friend. I still remember that it is a mongrel and it was limping when it walks. So excitedly, I agreed to help to look after him. This dog will follows me where ever i go.. even to the toilet, he will sit outside and wait for me. When I sleep, he will wants to sleep beside my bed. At that point of time, I felt that my privacy has been intruded >.< .... So after 1 week, i cannot really take it and ask my cousin to bring him back :( ... looking back, I wish I would have kept that dog instead.Seriously, I think her friend did not really took care of the dog and intend to abandon him. Because when I ask my cousin to take back the dog, the owner was not very willing.
Ok, so my childhood is all about encounters with dogs. Never have i thought that i would own a cat someday. The decision to get a cat is when my mum retires and i feel that having a pet for her will help to keep her company at home when we are not around. So, the 1st cat came into my life and my mum named her "Mimi". Mimi was given by my friend as his cat gave birth to a litter. She had brown, white and black fur, a turquoises cat as many will call. Sadly, she fell to her death when she ran outside of the house and fell through a hole at the corridor. That experience was scary.. I still remember that faithful night. I was devastated :(. After a few month of setting down, we decided to adopt another. This time is a stray rescued by one of the rescuer. It is also turquoises in color and my mum named her "Sweetie". Don't ask me why their names are so.. uhm.. So, sweety came into our lives. My mum thinks that she will be lonely, so my brother decided to get a cat to accompany her. So, they went to a pet shop this time and get a Rag doll, and we name him "xiao bai". And so, they mate and had a litter of kittens. She gave birth to a full brown cat (no pics), a black & brown cat (named: Kelly) & a trio color cat (named: bao bei). I gave the brown cat up for adoption as they are too many for us.
So ever since these cats came into my life.. my perspective of cats had changed. Out of all these cats, xiao bai is the closest to me. After i move out of my mum's place, i decided to bring him with me and left the rest with my mum. So now xiao bai being alone, i decided to adopt another one to accompany him. And i went to one of the adoption drive organize by them last sept and i adopted a black & white cat (named: Mika)
I adopted her at the NEX mall adoption drive. :) And she turns out to be such a sweety and gets along real well with xiao bai.
Everyday i go home knowing that they will wait at the door for me and upon seeing me, they will "bare" their belly to me for a tummy rub. And studies shown that stroking a cat will help to reduce stress and anxiety. How not to have such awesome pets to bring joy into your life? Do consider to adopt one if you can and i'm sure they will return you with lots of loves and joy unconditionally. :)

Feeding the strays
Was just walking around my estate last Saturday and saw quite a number of stray cats around. Some are quite well-fed and some look like they've just came out of the washing machine.. (in quite a bad shape, fur looks really messy)..
While walking towards my block, we chance upon this stray that looks real pretty. It has white and grey fur, too bad I didn't capture a photo. It looks rather well-fed and friendly, walking up to us and meow (aww...) Since its so friendly & looks so cute, we decided to feed it. I quickly went up to take the cat food and also clean water. The stray quickly came over and eat happily.
While waiting for it to finish the food so we can clean it up, I suddenly thought of an idea.. An idea that will allow feeding of the strays without dirtying the environment. You might have heard of recent news about some residents complaining about how cat feeders dirtying their surroundings. While feeding strays is a kind act, but feeders should always clean up after that. So people will have nothing to complain about and therefore, there is no need to remove the strays. Its a win-win situation. But most of the feeders that i see around my estate are old folks and most of the don't comply to cleaning up after feeding. So naturally, people tend to complain to town council on how dirty their environment is due to this. Not to put blame on anyone, but i think educating those stray-feeders are indeed needed. So here is my idea...
I'm just thinking, if we can have some feeding stations build for strays. Like those automatic food dispenser, we can build these dispenser around the estate and those strays can actually press to dispense food. And you think that cats might not be that intelligent to dispense food by themselves, you are totally wrong. You know how easy it is to train a cat to go to its litter box to do business? It works the same way! Cats only need a few repetition to get them learn a particular tasks. There was once a black stray cat that will faithfully turn up at my mum's place and wait for her to feed him. Nobody taught him how to go to my mum's place, he just happen to come to our corridor and my mum just feed him seeing that he's a stray and vola! He turns up everyday at the same time waiting for food. And also look at those strays who will faithfully waits for their feeder at a specific place at a specific time.
There are already some food dispenser selling in the market now, eg:
So how it works will be something like this:
- Customize food dispensers for stray cats around those estates with lots of strays
- These food dispensers will be build at designated area/locations as specified by either town council, cats welfare or residents suggestions etc..
- It will dispense food by having the cat pressing down a lever (you know those dustbins that you use your feet to tap and open?) It will work similarly.
- It will only dispense a little food at a time so that there will not be left over food that will invite unnecessary ants, cockroaches etc... If the cat is hungry, it can always tap to release more food
- It must be vandal proof (meaning - not easily being vandalize by public)
- Refill of food must only be done by authorized personnel. This is to prevent people from throwing unwanted rubbish into the dispensers
- And of course... to train the cats to go there to dispense food when they are hungry :)
This solution will not only solves the issue of "littering" as classified by the "angry" public about not cleaning up after feeding, and also it will solve the issue of hungry strays over-turning the rubbish bins to look for food.
So, whoever is reading this and feels that this is a good feeding solutions for our strays, leave a comment & we can discuss more hopefully :)
